Lux Luka Foundation

Thu — 25/09/2025 20:30 Gent

The Lux Luka Foundation was established in memory of Luka Hemelaere, who died of a brain tumor at the age of 16. His mother, Carla Van Caeneghem, founded the foundation to support scientific research into brain tumors in children, with the goal of making treatments less stressful and detecting relapses early. The foundation works closely with UZ Gent for this purpose. Through events and donations, the Lux Luka Foundation continues to advocate for the well-being of children with brain tumors and their families. In this context, BRYGGEN will play a concert on Thursday, Sept. 25.

B-Classic – Festival Beroert (1)

Sat — 29/11/2025 20:15 Minderbroederskerk St-Truiden

B-Classic and CC de Bogaard invite you to a three-day musical exploration through time and space. Festival Beroert nestles in the centuries-old heart of Sint-Truiden, where sounds make the walls resonate and music takes on new forms. Classical scores are cracked open, distorted, recomposed and merge with other worlds. Heritage becomes more than a backdrop; it becomes a sound box that allows the past to vibrate into the present.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, the sounds of BRYGGEN will fill the vaults of the Minderbroederskerk. Tales from the Woods searches for the fragile space between tradition and innovation, between stillness and movement. The intimate sounds of Grieg and Pärt intertwine with reworked traditional melodies.

four seasons changed

Fri — 23/01/2026 20:00 De Singel Antwerpen

In four seasons changed, BRYGGEN brings Vivaldi’s iconic Four Seasons back to life in Max Richter’s acclaimed recomposition. But this is not a classical concert: the musicians play by heart and move around the stage while playing in a choreography by Michiel Vandevelde. Between them moves a dancer – a fluid presence that makes the emotional carpet pad of the music tangible. An immense mirror hangs above the stage, offering the audience a surprising top view and transforming the scenography into a living kaleidoscopic image. Thus, music, movement and space flow together seamlessly. The performance explores themes of change, collectivity and vulnerability, inviting the viewer to look and listen differently. New electronic intermezzi are also being created especially for this performance, shaping the transitions between the seasons and giving the whole a contemporary pulse. four seasons changed is an intense sensory experience, an ode to transformation and the power of interplay in movement.

Waltz with Bashir

Wed — 11/03/2026 20:00 La Filature Mulhouse (FR)

Anyone who has already seen Waltz with Bashir on the big screen knows what an overwhelming experience the film is. With his unique, animated documentary, director Ari Folman is rooting in his own past and memories of the Lebanese civil war. Through conversations with his army comrades, the horrors of the time very gradually seep back in. Waltz with Bashir pushed the boundaries of genre, winning film award after film award: a Golden Globe, a César, and also… a European Film Award for Max Richter’s haunting soundtrack. Rightly so, because with his rarefied strings and rich synthesizer soundscapes, the British composer pumped every frame full of emotion.
BRYGGEN, under the direction of violinist Jolente De Maeyer, makes you experience this animated documentary like never before by bringing the music live to the film.

Folk

Fri — 27/03/2026 20:00 Basiliek Grimbergen

For CC Strombeek, we dive into the rich repertoire for strings with Arvo Pärt’s ‘Summa’, which captures the timbres of a string orchestra like no other. The core of the program includes two works by Edvard Grieg. The ‘Holberg Suite’ is a romantic suite for string orchestra based on Baroque dance forms. ‘Solveig’s Song’, in addition, is a song from ‘Peer Gynt’ and perhaps one of Grieg’s most iconic and beloved works. To conclude, the program returns to the origins of fiddle playing by exploring the traditional ‘fiddle’ style, with a selection of arrangements of Scandinavian folk music by the Danish String Quartet, now arranged especially for BRYGGEN.
