About us
From its home port of Bruges, string orchestra BRYGGEN boldly sets course for the North, along the routes of the Hanseatic League, all the way to Scandinavia and the Baltic. In search of new sounds and connection to the wide world around. With united/unified forces, now moving against the current, then harmoniously bathing in the tranquillity of immeasurably deep fjords.

Concerts
Davidsfonds
Thu — 20/03/2025 20:00 Karmelietenkerk Brugge
Davidsfonds was founded in 1875 in Wilsele near Leuven, and already in the same year
local departments were formed. In Bruges, the well-known historian Adolf Duclos took the
initiative for the Davidsfonds department. Today, Davidsfonds in ‘t Brugsche is the
umbrella department. 2025 is a special year for Davidsfonds. The 150th anniversary of
Flanders’ largest cultural network is an excellent occasion for a year-long celebration. In Bruges, too, music has always been an important pillar in the cultural experience.
Therefore, the choice was made to organise a celebration concert with BRYGGEN on March 20, 2025.
Winterreise – Ian Bostridge

Winterreise is the archetypal story of German Romanticism, with ‘der Wanderer’ as the central character. No singer can perform this role as powerful as Ian Bostridge.
